When my watch strap broke I decided to try making one rather than buying a new one. It took a while to work out how to put it together once I had finished the canvas work. It turned out quite well.

I am in Port Elizabeth South Africa. I enjoy embroidery and needlepoint. We have a local embroidery guild that keeps us on our toes with new ideas and stitches.
Hi Odette,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with it :-)
Pierrette =^..^=
Neat! Why didn't you tell me you had a blog, Odette! Tell all about how you did the strap. I needlepointed a watch strap once but attaching the two sides to the watch was a royal pain!
ReplyDeleteYes! Inquiring minds want to know how you attached this! More details please!
ReplyDeleteI made a 'tab' in tent stitch and folded it over and stitch it down so that there was a loop. The watch has little springs that clip into the arms (for the lack od a better word) on the side of the watch. So I was able to put the spring through the loop and clip it in. One just need to make sure that the watch has this type of attachment for the strap otherwise I don't know how you could attach the strap. I have looked at other watches and there are not too many that one can use.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing....it is such a great idea!
